Welcome Back

Dear Sunshine,

Thank you for waking up the new apple tree! It's got little bundles of leaves spraying out from the branches and it's just adorable! We love what you've done with the buttery daffodils, they are so cheerful about nodding hello to the neighbors as they pass. We really think you've outdone yourself with the sunbeams this year. They are outstanding! We could soak up their friendly warmth and never get tired of it! (We've got sunblock, but that doesn't mean we don't like you!)

With Easter/Ostara - new flowers all around, new puppies by the stores, baby chicks at the farm store, seed packets, and rain - we got the message about renewal and that you were on your way home for the summer. We celebrated Easter morning with Eggs Golden Rod and the Easter Bunny showered us in caramels and jelly beans. We're pretty keen on having longer days (more daylight). We've missed you and are glad we'll be seeing more of you!

Love, Suz

Homemade Bread

My mom has been baking bread lately and sharing. { Thanks Mom! } We have turned out to be big fans of wheat bread. Fresh ground wheat, baked up fresh gives the bread a nutty, caramel-y flavor that store-bought can't touch.

NEWS RELEASE: In-N-Out Burger to Locate in Draper

DRAPER, Utah. Draper City announces the owners of In-N-Out Burger have submitted plans for construction of a restaurant in Draper. The restaurant will be located in the Draper Peaks Shopping Center, visible from I-15, at 12195 So. Factory Outlet Dr. In-N-Out Burger is known for using fresh, never-frozen meat and fresh-cut, never-frozen fries.

“We are very pleased to be the first location in northern Utah. Our residents expressed in a survey that this was one of the restaurants they would like to see in Draper. I credit the good relationship between the developer and city representatives and the aggressive approach that the city council is taking towards economic development for bringing this restaurant into Draper,” said Mayor Darrell H. Midnight Snow

I just let the dog out and we're getting our first snow! (The dog was pretty happy to get back inside.) It was sort of snowing/slushing earlier today, but it's actually snowing fluffy flakes now. Earlier this week we mowed the yard and put the flower pots in the garage. Eric had heard we were going to have snow. I'm glad he was paying attention! I was just enjoying the autumn leaves tumbling in the wind today. I remember trick-or-treating wearing my coat. What is up with that? Covering up a costume with a coat! Okay, so Emily has the same tale to tell. Happy first snow everybody!
